Located just 10 minutes from town center and from the Airport, the Thongbay Guesthouse is a perfect place to retreat after a long day of sightseeing. The Thongbay area is located facing the Nam Khan River and the 16 Bungalows are surrounded by a beautiful, tropical garden with flowers, palms, ponds and local plants. It offers comfortable Bungalows with a private balcony. All bungalows are equipped with air conditioning. Free WiFi access is available in all the rooms. The kitchen serves Lao and Western food and there is a little restaurant, where our guests can enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner. Laundry service is available and the Guesthouse offers free transfer to the city and free Bicycle Rental.

My name is Lay Inthavong and I am married to a Swiss. My husband called Philipp and together we have a son. His name is Pascal. I met Philipp in 2000 in Luang Prabang and in 2001 we started with the construction of the Thongbay Guesthouse. In spring 2002 we opened the Guesthouse. At that time it had very few tourists in Luang Prabang and our Guesthouse had 8 bungalows only. The bungalows were built very simply. We now have 16 bungalows and the standard of the bungalows we have constantly increased. Since Pascal goes to school in Switzerland, we have been living for a few years mainly in Switzerland. My brother To and his wife Kai live with their family in the Guesthouse. They are responsible for the Guesthouse and they do everything so that our guests can enjoy a great stay.

Our Guesthouse is located at the beautiful Nam Khan River, a little bit outside of the center of Luang Prabang. Our guests appreciate the quiet and rural area. There are only ten minutes to go to the city and we offer regular free transfers. The airport as well is only ten minutes away from the Thongbay Guesthouse.
