Deuli House is a large private house featuring 4 suites, each with en-suite bathroom and private balcony overlooking the gardens plus a large self-contained apartment on the top floor with extensive views of the surrounding village and area. There's a large ground floor lounge with terrace leading onto the house's 2 mature gardens that feature fruit trees, flowers and beautiful birds. There's also a fully equipped kitchen where the house cook prepares meals or available to guests should they wish to use it. The The beach is a 2 minutes walk away.

I've grown up in Shela on Lamu Island, lived here all my life and know the village and surrounding area very well. I'm a certified tour guide and can speak fluent English, some Italian and Native Swahili.

Shela is a quiet historic small fishing village with no cars or roads. There are local shops selling food, household necessities and local crafts etc and everything is within a few minutes walking distance. Should you wish to travel further afield, a motorboat or sailing dhow can be arranged by our friendly manager.
