‘Suiki’ Machiya House is a renovated traditional Japanese holiday house (vacation rental) just a short walk from both Omicho Market and the Higashi Chaya District, located in Kanazawa’s historic Hikosomachi neighborhood.
Spanning 135㎡ (1,457 ft²), ‘Suiki’ is especially spacious and consists of 2 distinct machiya buildings connected by a covered outdoor walkway. Inside, you’ll find a large dining area, kitchen, a comfortable living room with a 65-inch TV, and striking fusuma doors featuring abstract artwork of Kanazawa’s iconic matsu pine trees. Natural wood accents and earthen tones throughout create a calming retreat.
One of the home’s standout features is its two Japanese gardens, offering scenic views from various rooms. The main bathroom includes a deep soaking tub overlooking a garden and a double-basin vanity, while an additional shower room provides extra convenience.
