Since taking semi-retirement in 2018, I have traveled to many places and been captivated by the stunning “Miyako Blue” sea, visiting this island countless times. By a fortunate turn of events, I was able to acquire two properties between 2023 and 2024.
With over 20 years of overseas living experience—and after returning to Japan, having stayed at a wide variety of accommodations from ten dollars per-night guesthouses to luxury hotels costing few thousands dollars—I aim to operate villas and vacation rentals from a guest’s perspective.
For seasoned travelers who choose villas over hotels, I hope you will experience the local lifestyle of Miyakojima, just as I have, and enjoy the slow island time surrounded by its beautiful nature.
The final stage of my life’s work is in the hospitality industry—an industry that delivers comfort, enjoyment, peace of mind, and unforgettable memories through the spirit of omotenashi (hospitality).
In the past, I spent ten years at a principled global company, thoroughly practicing the mindset of “working backwards from customers.” Designing services and spaces starting from the ideal guest experience is the same approach I want to bring to my villa operations.
The moment a guest smiles and says, “I’m so glad I stayed here,” is the greatest reward for me.
Renewed in January 2025, “Ryukyu Kominka Yumata” blends modern facilities with the charm of a traditional village, offering a space where you can feel the simple life of Miyakojima. We’ve also added a new pool—perfect for enjoying a relaxing moment by the poolside with a hamburger and a beer.
Opening in the summer of 2025, the large luxury villa “BAYFRONT YONAHA” is set in a prime location facing Yonaha Bay, featuring a 10-meter infinity pool, sauna, and a chiller-equipped cold bath. I designed it with such comfort and completeness that I feel, “I wouldn’t need to leave this place at all.”
If you feel that staying here was truly worth it, nothing could make me happier.
住宿信息
Nestled in a tranquil village, this private, one-group-per-day traditional Okinawan villa with a private pool offers a peaceful resort stay where you can experience the island’s way of life.
Only a 10-minute drive from the airport and close to central Miyakojima, “Villa M Ryukyu Kominka Yumata” stands in a quiet village far removed from the hustle and bustle of the town.
While preserving the charm of traditional architecture such as the red Ryukyu tiled roof and wooden beams, the villa has been fully renovated with modern facilities. Equipped with a soft water system and a wide range of amenities, it provides the nostalgic atmosphere of a traditional house while ensuring safety and comfort.
A 5-meter private pool is also available, where you can relax by the poolside, gazing at the blue sky and banyan trees.
Enjoy an indulgent, private retreat while immersing yourself in the island lifestyle.
*Up to one small dog is allowed to stay indoors. After a pet’s stay, we conduct special cleaning, including deodorization with an ozone generator, so even guests without pets have praised the villa for being completely free of odors or stains.
