Norheim aimed for nostalgia rather than novelty. More tranquility than splendor. Warmth and serenity rather than luxury. The fireplace-type wood stove is a distinctive feature of the interior, which makes extensive use of wood and natural materials. Bonfires on the wood deck, barbecues with lavish use of wood. Chopping wood on the large earthen floor, bike touring through the forest as if weaving through the trees, the view of Sakuraoka from the terrace. Everything is designed for a quiet stay where time seems to have stopped. We want you to spend your time as if you could regain your true self in these days of daily life, when everything is so much on your mind. This is our wish. The forest in front of the lodge is a private forest accessible only to guests. Diverse tree species grow here, and numerous mountain herbs bloom from spring to autumn. Wildlife also inhabits the area, providing enjoyment for guests. Use the provided mountain bikes to ride through the forest, observe mountain herbs, and try to spot squirrels and wild birds.

Asahikawa, Hokkaido's second largest city. Sakuraoka is located at the end of a forest that extends from Daisetsuzan (Mt. Daisetsuzan), where a beautiful satoyama landscape remains. Among the moderate hills and forests are scattered reservoirs and fields. The farm road that weaves through these fields, gently curving, connects a café, a general store, a woodworking factory, a horse garden, a villa, a design office, and a wooden elementary and junior high school, forming a landscape.
