At 1600m, we are the highest hotel in Jordan! Jabal Dana Hotel is situated at the top of the mountain ridge surrounding the village of Dana. From here, a spectacular bird's eye view opens into the Wadi Dana with its four different ecosystems, as far as the ancient Roman copper mines of Faynan and out across the Jordan valley (Wadi 'Araba). Sited just at the edge of Jordan's largest nature reserve, the Jabal Dana Hotel provides both a peaceful midway resting spot on the way to Petra and Wadi Rum and a good starting point for nature trails in the region - to Rummana Camp in the heart of the reserve, to the eco lodges in Dana and Faynan, and to Wadi Ghweir. All of these can be arranged for you on your arrival. As a hotel, we are a simple place run by locals, giving you the chance to join into the Jordanian way of life outside the main tourist bustle. It also gives you the benefit of enjoying the excellent Jordanian cuisine with locally sourced products. It is surrounded by the magnificent rock formations of a landscape formed by vulcanism and water run-off in the wadis - the guided trails you can take from here will leave you with some truly awe-inspiring memories. The surrounding fauna and flora are among the richest in all of Jordan, making it a great place for bird-watchers and nature lovers. Several archaeological sites can be found in the wider vicinity, such as the crusader castle of Shobak and the capital city of the ancient kingdom of Edom, already named in the Bible. The famous site of Petra is just a daytrip away, which we can easily organise even at short notice.
