Hi, I'm Abdul, also known as 'King of the Desert'. I've been in contact with travelers in Wadi Rum since I was a little kid, because my father hosted tourists in our desert. I learned English from tourists who we received as guests in our family home. At the age of 15, after my English had improved enough, I started working as a tour guide. Together with my brother I took over and expanded our father's camp in the desert. But still, giving tours and staying overnight with our guests in the cave gives me the most joy! I like to joke around, chat around the campfire about our lives here and drive crazy in the dunes if you want!

Our camp is located in the heart of the protected area of Wadi Rum Desert in Jordan. It is a family business run by me, Abdul, my brothers, cousins and friends. We are part of a Bedouin tribe that is famous for its hospitality and we and our ancestors have been living here for centuries. Over the past 8 years we have been hosting guests from all over the world as if they were part of our family. We tour across the desert with our guests in Jeeps, on camels and during active hikes and we let them stay overnight in our cave or traditional Bedouin camp to let them experience how it is to live like a Bedouin in Wadi Rum. We love to meet a lot of people from different cultures and countries and inform them about the Bedouin traditions and habits.
