LAMIA MATERA 11

I walked around this corner of the Sassi as a child, attending here the house of my grandparents where I still live today with my family; now my children are the guys from the neighborhood. In recent years the Sassi have been popoluated with visitors from all over the world: it is a pleasure to share the beauty of these places, hosting visitors in an environment that we have revisited with care and passion, to let them experience the warmth of the home.

In an excellent position, in the Sassi districts and 500 meters away from the central square, Lamia Matera 11 has a very suggestive view, overlooking the deep furrow of the torrent Gravina. We renovated the original building, called lamione or lamia, with its characteristic barrel vault, according to the guidelines of contemporary design to create refined, surprising and relaxing environments. The house spreads over three different levels, with the bedrooms located on the terminal part. On the ground floor, a golden staircase decorates the large living room with kitchen by winding around the two-burner fireplace. On this level, there is one of the bedrooms, with an elegant bathroom, overlooking the rocks of Murgia. Downstairs, entirely carved into the rock, a cozy and spacious room, also with stunning views. Another double bedroom, with a bathroom, is located on the upper level, under the original tuff stone vault. The play with glasses, the large windows open enchanting views of the surrounding landscape and allow you to feel immersed in the surrounding nature, while being in the heart of the old Sassi districts.
