公司信息
Our history is steeped in Tuscan tradition, starting with the construction of our house in the 1950s, following the agrarian reforms of the Ente Maremma. However, our family's presence here dates back to the 19th century, with four generations having lived and worked on these lands.
The name "Il Sorbo" comes from the abundant presence of rowan trees that once characterized the landscape. This detail adds a historical and evocative touch to the story of our Agriturismo. During the mezzadria era, farm workers came from the mountains to "uproot" these and other trees to make space for arable land.
Today, the property covers approximately 70 hectares, featuring a combination of arable land, olive groves, and Mediterranean scrub, a balance that supports biodiversity and sustainability. The cultivation of wheat and olives from the main local varieties ensures quality, as evidenced by the production of IGP Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVO).
In recent years, the expansion of the olive grove has been a significant step in strengthening our family’s agricultural identity and tradition. The decision to plant single-variety olive groves with ancient Tuscan varieties at risk of extinction is not only a way to preserve local biodiversity but also enhances the rich agricultural heritage of Tuscany.
