This is a small and personal accommodation where you can meet the local in a peaceful countryside but it's only 15 min drive from the main town in the east. The accommodation is located on the 1st floor but the owners live on the second floor and they are always available. There are 3 rooms in the accommodation, 1 full bathroom and a other one with toilet and sink. You have access to well equipped kitchen. We have 2 cottages (cabins) 24 square meters with full bathroom. Only 10 meters away there is a service house with a big indoor sitting area with full equipped kitchen. We provide a small continental breakfast, it's is our famous homemade bread with butter, cheese, jams, tea and we have great coffee machines with great coffee. Here you have access to sauna for free. We provide extra towels, just ask for it! :) Mjoanes accommodation is the perfect place for people that want to enjoy the Icelandic nature.

There are lot of things that are interesting to see here in the area. I can mention Iceland biggest forest Hallormsstaður, beautiful waterfall Hengifoss, Skriðuklaustur, Snæfellsstofa (Snaefellstofa) Visitor Centre. I can also mention Strútsfoss, Stórurð, Fardagafoss, the Wilderness center, Stapavík, national hot tub in Laugarfell, Sænautasel and many other places. You can go to the fjords like a beautiful village Seyðisfjörður and the fjord Borgarfjörður where you can see puffins from middle of April to middle of August. If you want to have a delicious vegan food we recommend you to stop in Vallanes, Móðir jörð, very nice place and good food. Search and check out these places on the web to see photos.
