His journey began far from hospitality—inside the technical, disciplined world of aircraft maintenance engineering. But somewhere between metal wings, precision tools, and endless checklists, he carried a quiet love for art, design, and the feeling of “home” that no textbook could teach. Travel changed everything. Every new place he visited, every culture he experienced, and every beautifully designed space he stepped into sparked an idea: “What if a stay could be more than just rooms? What if it could be an experience with a soul?” Volcastay was born from that idea. Rather than building a standard guesthouse, Shuchim poured himself into creating rooms that tell stories — an aircraft room for dreamers and aviators, a stargazing cottage for romantics, a bamboo hut inspired by village simplicity, and more. Each space reflects pieces of his journey: engineering precision, creative imagination, and heartfelt hospitality. For Shuchim, hosting isn’t a business.
