Bononi is a guest house located on the outskirts of Jorhat town. The owners Dilip and Jyoti,(two retired professionals) stay on the first floor with rooms for guests on the ground floor and a backyard garden that extends to a fish pond. The in-house kitchen serves delicious food to the guests made with most of the herbs and vegetables grown organically in the property, and above all, with utmost care. There is a common sitting space with a television and kitchenette. Set amidst village surroundings, Bononi (meaning grasslands) has many corners to laze around for a day or two before venturing to places like Majuli (12.7 km to ferry service), Hoollongapar Gibbon Sanctuary, (22.6 km), Sivasagar (54.2 km), Mokokchung (103 km) and Kaziranga National Park (119 km). People looking to stay for longer duration and work away from their busy schedules, in a quiet environment, are most welcome to negotiate tariffs. Near the backyard garden is a laptop friendly, well-lit, partially open workspace with tea and coffee, and wifi.
