Experience the tranquility of Slieve Aughty Centre, where serenity awaits to embrace you, offering respite from the chaos of everyday life. Delve into the beauty of nature, cherish moments with loved ones, embark on horseback adventures or forest strolls, unwind in snug accommodations, and savor delectable organic cuisine. Let go of your concerns and relax, whether it be for a fleeting day or an indulgent week-long retreat.
Opened in 1989, the centre has grown to include facilities for groups, private events, families, or solo journeys. A stay at Slieve Aughty Centre is an experience, where you can get back to nature, explore the world around you and appreciate a starry night or morning birdsong. In the summer months the outdoor kitchen serves homemade organic pizza every Friday night and is used other days of the week to prepare daily home-cooked meals.
Everywhere you will see how the centre fits into the surroundings, through Earthy colours, recycled materials, timber construction, mature gardens, and animals peacefully grazing. With sustainability at its core, wander the organic garden, where the fruits and veggies only have a few steps before they arrive to the kitchen and your plate, visit the Enchanted Fairy Forest, ride horses through the forest, or lace up your boots and check out the hiking trails. Quiet country lanes invite cyclists to pedal miles of open, rolling landscape and the kids can have a great time visiting the animals, playing games, or sliding at the playground.
周边信息
Slieve Aughty Centre is set on 17 acres in remote and wild East County Galway. Surrounded by more than 2,000 acres of forestry, there are miles and miles of trails to explore on foot or horseback and an abundance of deer, fox, pine martin, red squirrel and more.
The centre is one of only 2 certified organic restaurants in the west of Ireland, with a certified organic garden on the property. Ecotourism Ireland also recognises the centre for it's green practices - including no televisions in the rooms, no plastic water bottles, biomass burning boiler and peatmoss filtration wastewater system, and extreme recycling.
While the area is remote and peaceful (some of the most beautiful starry nights can be seen), there is a shop and a pub within walking distance and the lively and fun coastal town of Galway is only a 45 minute drive. Loughrea town is a 15 minute drive and offers pubs, restaurants, shops, and Loughrea Lake (excellent for swimming).
