The Green Door Cottage is located in Thomastown, close to the picturesque River Nore, renowned for its salmon and trout. The cottage is over 200 years old. It was a house used by the Irish resistance. The part we are using at the moment is the small one. The renovation of the larger one is not yet finished. The characterful cottage offers comfortable accommodation with a fully equipped kitchen, and open plan living room and dining area. A double bed on the mezzanine level promises a good night’s sleep. Thomastown is known for arts and crafts, and the town centre with its shops and award-winning restaurants are within easy walking distance. Thomastown train station connects to Waterford, Kilkenny and Dublin. The Green Door Cottage is 3.9 miles from Mount Juliet Estate, 11 miles from Kilkenny and 25 miles from Waterford. Five minutes away you can also visit the Jerpoint Abbey and about twenty minutes away you can find yourself in Kells with the ancient walls of the priory and you can have an excellent culinary experience in the famous restaurant pizzeria The Kings mill in an old-time setting immersed in the green Ireland. The accommodation is non-smoking.
