Bathroom including shower, toilet and wash basin on the first floor. There is a mix of double beds (2) and single beds (2) plus two collapsible single beds if needed. The beds can be rearranged between the ground and first floors to suit sleeping arrangements – no separate bedrooms but space dividers are provided. Utilities - electricity, oil fired central heating included. There is also an open fireplace on the ground floor. Satellite TV with up to 300 channels. Towels and bed linen supplied. Outside water tap and normal clothes line. The parking area is open plan but it is a cul-de-sac back about 20 metres from the main road. Feedback from satisfied customers, including clients of Tripadvisor, has been very positive. Consult owner re pets.
The house is located close to the new Cottage restaurant at Dugort (across from the old Dugort post office) and at the opposite end of Dugort beach from The Strand Hotel. Dugort is a blue flag beach and is patrolled by local authority employed beach guards. The surroundings contribute massively to the character and to the ambiance of the holiday home. To compliment the natural local amenities, where all types of outdoor pursuits e.g. walking, cycling swimming, surfing kite and wind surfing hill walking, rock climbing etc. can be enjoyed, the local restaurants provide cuisine to suit all tastes. In less physically demanding moments concerts at the local St. Thomas’s Church and at various other venues can be enjoyed. The cottage of the 1972 Nobel Literature Prize winner, Heinrich Boll, is just over the road, and is just one example of the many gems which one can come across when going walkabout. Actually Ocean View is an ideal starting point for exploring the whole of Achill Island. The area is not overly developed but is within walking distance of some excellent restaurants and pubs i.e. The Cottage Café, Mastersons, The Valley House and The Strand Hotel to mention but a few.
