Once a railway goods shed built in 1872, now a peaceful hideaway at the edge of a disused platform, this unique one-bedroom loft blends rustic railway history with modern comfort—and sits nestled in two acres of natural gardens alive with birdsong, foxes, and wildflowers. Inside, you’ll find soaring ceilings with exposed beams, touches of stonework from the original structure, and a warm, open-plan living space. A hand-built staircase leads to the mezzanine bedroom, where a king-size bed overlooks the lounge. Downstairs, the modern kitchen and bathroom provide everything you need—with high-pressure water, an overhead rainfall shower, and reverse-cycle aircon for year-round comfort. Outdoors, a wraparound deck catches the sun all day and offers views over the platform and garden—perfect for a morning coffee, sunset glass of wine, or simply watching the buzzards circle above. You’ll be staying alongside a lovingly restored historic train station (where I live), but the loft and garden offer plenty of space and privacy. There’s even a canoe on-site for guests to borrow, and I’m happy to help transport it if you’d like to explore the nearby water.
