Katie's View

The property of Katie's View has been a significant part of our family history for decades. My husband and I met as teenagers and would spend summers here bringing in the hay. We would eventually come back to visit many times throughout the years, taking our three children with. In 2001, our daughter, Katie, passed but not before she was able to choose this area for us to begin our retirement in Ireland after having lived in Chicago for more than thirty years. Due to Katie's passing we decided to raise her daughter here as she had intended. Our granddaughter was able to have a happy carefree childhood filled with family, friends, and the beautiful nature and sights that accompany living in our small corner of the world. Katie's View is more than just a house for us, it's a time capsule that tells the story of our family and keeps the memory of our daughter alive. We hope that in sharing this special place with visitors the feelings of love and serenity that we associate with Katie's View will not only be maintained but expanded in the company of others. We look forward to hosting you and hope you find Katie's view as meaningful and magnificent as we do.

Recently refurbished ground level flat overlooking the River Suir surrounded by the Galtees, Comeraghs, Knockmealdown mountains. There are numerous activities in the area within walking distance, swimming, fishing, canoeing, horse riding, golf course, and walking trails. Cahir Castle, Swiss Cottage, Rock of Cashel, Mitchelstown Caves, & Parsons Green are great local sights for kids. Great restaurants in the local town of Cahir. Owners can collect you from train station/bus stop in Cahir.
