Hi, I was born in the local area and I have strong personal connections with St. Finians Bay. To me, it's the most beautiful area in Southwest Ireland. There are plenty of opportunities for hikes or beach days, as well a multitude of gorgeous natural landscapes, such as Skellig Michael (as seen on Star Wars Episodes VII and VIII).
The area is largely untouched by modern development, with a diverse landscape from sea views to mountains and bog lands, whilst also boasting several amenities for food and drinks, such as the Hake Hatch, Driftwood, and the Skelligs Chocolate Factory. For those who want to explore it is an ideal base to gather some excellent photo opportunities. For me, sharing this hidden gem of a location with the world is something which gives me great satisfaction and joy, and I look forward to sharing it with you.
St Finians Bay with its Sandy Beach sits between Ballinskelligs in the South and Portmagee to the North (5 miles each way. From all angles you can view the SKELLIGS Michael Heritage Site just 12 miles off shore.
We have our local Skelligs Chocolate Factory and cafe, Driftwood Restaurant and Coffee Dock at the beach, Hake Hatch fast food outlet, plus our modern children's play area all adjacent to Chapel Cross House.
