Johnsfort, where the beautiful Marianne Cottage is located, brings another beautiful restored accommodation, Bartholomew’s Loft. As experienced super hosts, with over 200 hundred reviews giving Marianne Cottage an overall 5 star rating we know what our guests want and expect. We always endeavor to meet these requirements. Kick back and relax in this calm, stylish upside down space. Please check out Marianne Cottage if we have no availability here for your dates or if you have a large group.
If we were to pick our favourite spot in the entire loft it would be sitting on the 1950s mustard sofa with a cup of coffee looking out the floor to ceiling window with its uninterrupted views of the countryside. At its best in early morning light, skylights open, the sound of birdsong and sheep bleating.20 metres outside the window 3 Highland cattle stroll up for a drink of water,the grass now glistening from the morning dew..What's for breakfast? Eggs of course, freshly laid by our own hens. Heaven is indeed a place on Earth!
Every detail of Bartholomew's Loft was carefully selected by us, from Parquet flooring salvaged from a local cathedral to handmade tiles to the chesterfield sofas. When you stay here you are surrounded by history with architectural and design heritage ranging from the 1700s right up to the 1980s. However this does not mean you will be stuck in some sort of time warp. WIFI is excellent and free, heating is zoned and timed and our Dimplex electric fire creates a fantastic ambiance in a few seconds. Winter evenings can be spent in front of the fire with the feet up listening to the patter of rain on the windows with a nice glass of wine or just a cup of tea.
The loft is great for all occasions;
Romantic getaways? Certainly....
