Ubud possesses a special ambience – no other town in Bali can emulate the atmosphere that it evokes. There is a fine and very particular balance between modernism and traditionalism that exists in Ubud, which makes it such an intriguing place to explore. The river valleys have carved the land and the rice terraces are immaculately kept, providing some of the most breathtaking scenery to see and capture. These very vistas lie at the feet of Central Ubud, which houses a myriad of vendors and cultural delights.
The Royal Palace is central to the town and offers visitors a glimpse into Balinese royalty – it is also a magical setting for traditional dance performances. The bustling Ubud market is a stone’s throw away and offers an array of goods to be bargained for. The streets of Ubud are filled with boutiques housing jewellery, fashion and accessories ranging from unique local designers to international brands for men, women and children alike. An area renowned for its arts and crafts, the many streets that feature furniture shops, galleries and specialised workshops are begging to be explored. The numerous restaurants and bars offer an array of cuisines.
