The owners are two Sandahl brothers with their families. We came to Hungary in 2004, with the intention to make outstanding quality wine. The vineyards on the steep slopes of the Badacsony hill are world class, and the excellent starting point for high quality wine. To market our wine production, in 2007 we built the promotion house. The vintage 2010 was our real breakthrough vintage, which gave us flawless and first class international style of highly subtle wines. Since then we have yearly received many gold medals from such famous wine competitions, as the English Decanter and the French Riesling du Monde. Most recently we have had a trilogy of fabulous vintages 2017, 2018 and 2019.

Sandahl Rezidencia is located in the wine promotion house of Villa Sandahl Kft, which is the Hungarian leading producer of dry Riesling wines. We offer distinguished rooms of the same fashionable quality as of our wines, for an eventful or relaxed stay in Badacsony. Room interiors are of famous Nordic design, such as Bruno Mattson, Källemo, Hästens sängar, Bernadotte & Kylberg, IKEA and Marimekko. The wine promotion house is located in the middle of our beautiful vineyard Genesis, with a fabulous view of the lake Balaton and its opposite landscape. In terrace sunbeds and indoors we offer our wines by bottles or the glass. Of course the included breakfast recall the constant pursuit of quality. Indoors we also offer a shared kitchenette for free, luxury bathrobe for additional fee, and outdoor barbeque equipment during check-in time for an additional feel. On appointment we can arrange wine tastings, power point seminars, vineyard excursions and guidance in our nearby winery.

Nowadays, Badacsony is most recognized for its beautiful views and a tourist resort for bath and sun. In old days, Badacsony was utterly famous for its wines, which during ancient times sold to majesties all around the world. As late as in the thirties, a lot of Badacsony wines were sold at Manhattan in USA. This is what Badacsony deserves, and what Villa Sandahl heavily supports to establish. A nice day can be spent hiking in the steep vineyards on the Badacsony hill, which is easy available by foot. By car there are many nice excursions to make, e.g. visiting the disused bazalt mining in Hegyestű, a boat ride in the scenic caves in Tapolca, swimming in the thermal pond in Heviz, or cross Balaton on a ferry (not to mention the disco boat in the evenings).
