we are in Magyarkut (Veroce) in the northern region of Hungary in the Danube bend, the Börzsöny hills just 40 minutes from the very centre of the capital Budapest and 50 kms from the airport Liszt Ferenc. This area has always been a favourite spot for nature lovers, hikers with the many nature trails it offers. The lot surrounding the house itself offers an ideal place to unwind, relax and recharge after the busy, stressful days just by walking round in it and looking at the different kind of trees and plants growing there, listening to the chirping birds while drinking your morning coffee outside or grilling your favourite meat or vegetables together with your beloved friends and family in absolute privacy. For more adventure the village and the Danube river side is only 3 kms from the house where you can mingle with the natives on the terraces of the restaurants on the Danube side, have a meal, enjoy the sight of the river with the cruise ships going by or the youngsters kayaking there. Don't forget to take a look at the so-called 'hanging garden' wall on the Danube side.

Our beautiful Community Hall on the river side and the Gorka Ceramics museum, as well as the exhibition of old radios are worth a visit, too. if you prefer more sightseeing there are plenty of villages and towns in the close vicinity. The baroque city of Vac is only a 10-minute drive from us with the Dome of Vac, The Bishops Palace and lots of restaurants and confectioneries. If you do not feel like driving there, take the train from the Magyarkut station. The railway station is only a 6-minute walk from the house. Kismaros -appr. 3 kms from us with its forest train ride is a good programme for adults and children alike. Nagymaros - also within a 10-minute drive offers a spectacular view to Visegrad, the palace of King Matthias on the other side of the Danube, a beautiful promenade and bicycle road alongside the river.The ferry will take you over if you would like to take a closer look. Veresegyház - Bear farm, only 30 km from the house, great programme both for adults and children. Holloko - World Heritage village. Formula 1 races, only apr. 30 kms from the house. Budapest - 36 minutes by train. you can leave your car at Veroce railway parking lot for free.
