„PLITVICE QUEEN“ is a new facility in Plitvice Lakes National Park, a UNESCO – protected park only 2.6 km from the entrance of Park No.2. Also, the facility is within the area „Natura 2000“ ecological network. The concept of the facility, the only one of its kind in the National Park, is a low energy passive house that is heated and cooled by a heat pump with 100% renewable green energy. Furthermore, the house is built of environmentally friendly and natural materials, has external thermal insulation as well as three-pane glass on windows. Also, it has its microclimate in heating and cooling with air recuperation. Orientation was taken into account when constructing the object, so it has more natural sunlight and therefore saves more energy. The interior materials of „PLITVICE QUEEN“ used natural materials for floors, furniture, and textiles, and thus the interior meets all strict environmental standards. For example, each room is made of elegant, natural dark beech wood, equipped with a king-size bed, work desk and seating area.

„PLITVICE QUEEN“ is located at an altitude of 700 meters above sea level where you can enjoy an unpolluted, unique view of the night sky. Besides, you can often encounter diverse plant and animal species. The house is surrounded by a forest of 1400 plant species and flora of beech, black alder, fir, spruce and hornbeam and as many as 60 species of orchids. The forest fauna consists of owls, woodpeckers, brown bears, wolves, lynxes, roe deer, deer and as many as 321 butterflies. During the summer months, you can experience the „fireflies night“ whose light is a symbol of a healthy and preserved natural environment, as well as the „butterfly night. Throughout the year, guests can enjoy clean, unpolluted air and a natural, peaceful environment.
