The Plesner house is an original Symi fisherman´s house, situated 111 steps up from the harbor, which has been restored and made up to date in a very delicate and charming way. It has a Scandinavian touch to it, since Mr. Plesner was a Danish architect, who bought the house - as a ruin - and made it up for himself and his family. The atmosphere is very relaxed and comfy and you can´t help feeling at ease here. The house faces west, which gives you shady mornings, which is preferable in the hot summer, and a lovely sunset view in the evening. Perfect for sundowners on the private terrace, partly covered by wine, from where you can overlook the harbor, the town and the Mediterranean sea. The house is divided in two separate floors, each with their own entrance from the outdoor steps (the whole town consists of steps). Each floor has their own bathroom and kitchen or kitchenette. This makes it perfect for couples or a family with teenagers, who like a little privacy. If you have babies or smaller children, you can easily keep them with you on the same floor. The colors of the property are mainly blue, white and ochre with a splash of cerise from the bougainvillea in the back yard.

Upon arrival in Symi by ferry, you will be greeted by Nicholas, who will take you and your luggage to the house by car. Nicholas is the fellow with the hat in the picture. Nicholas and his wife Adriana have been living in Symi for decades and knows everything about the island and can tell you all you need to know to find your way around and insight in the history of the island. He will show you where the shops are and where the excursion boats come and go etc. If you have a problem or something breaks or doesn´t work, you can always call Nicholas or Adriana.

The neighborhood is called Pitini and is situated on the far left of the town when you look at it coming in to the harbor by boat. It is fairly close to restaurants both in Pitini, the harbor (Yallos) and in the uptown (Chorio). You have a 10 minute easy walk to the excursion and taxi boats, which takes you to all the beaches around the island. We recommend the Poseidon excursion boat.
