Megalochori is the Capital of this tiny forested island. The windy alleyways meandre past old stone houses covered in Bougainvillea, which remind us of years gone by and older more authentic Greece.
The village is small but offers a well stocked supermarket and a bakery with all the traditional Greek pastries and pies as well as freshly baked bread. There are plenty of tavernas and cafes, a few small beaches and stunning views. Agistri has sunsets to rival anywhere in Greece.
