Casa de Madera

In a clearing among the fir trees, at the mountainous borders of the prefectures of Phocis and Phthiotis, and at an altitude reaching 1300m, Casa de Madera was created! As their name suggests (Casas de Madera = Wooden Houses in Spanish), these are two wooden maisonettes with lofts, fully harmonized with the natural surroundings while at the same time offering all modern comforts, providing their guests with a cozy and unforgettable stay! Each house can accommodate up to 3 people and features a fully equipped kitchen, a private bathroom, a double bed with anatomic mattress, a sofa bed, a 50-inch TV, and satellite internet with speeds exceeding 150 Mbps. Heat pumps provide heating and hot water around the clock, while a modern stove completes the sense of warmth, combined with the unlimited view of the forest! Each maisonette has its own private yard, while you can also enjoy the outdoor sauna overlooking the forest, sunbeds and shower, an outdoor stone fireplace, a wooden cart where you can enjoy your coffee, and even test your strategy on the giant chess set! The houses are built from Finnish timber and the surrounding area from stone, while both indoors and outdoors you will find our own handmade decorative creations, paintings, and unique constructions. The sauna is free for half an hour, with an additional charge of ten euros per extra half hour. The jacuzzi comes at an additional cost and is not included in the price. Jacuzzi hours are from 16:00 to 23:00 in the evening

Casa de Madera is located in Vryzes, Local District of Kaloskopi, Phocis Prefecture, Postal Code 33057. They are easily accessible as they are situated on the main Sperchiada–Amfissa road, with parking space right outside, and at the same time they offer complete peace and quiet, since there are no other buildings around. Thanks to the central road network, they are not cut off during snowfalls or severe weather conditions. They are located just: • 1 minute from the Oiti Refuge • 4 minutes from Kaloskopi • 7 minutes from Pavliani and its beautiful little park • 9 minutes from the Grove and the Baths of Heracles • 30 minutes from Athanasios Diakos • 50 minutes from Lamia • 2 hours from Patras • 2.5 hours from Athens Right next to us, at the Oiti Refuge, you can engage in mountaineering, ski touring, cat skiing, snowmobiling, and many other mountain activities, and then enjoy your coffee with homemade desserts, your drink, or snacks afterwards! You can also: • Discover the numerous trails the area offers, most of which are mapped. • Visit Pavliani Park and the Grove and Baths of Heracles (7 and 9 minutes away, respectively). • Explore nearby villages, many of which are unknown to most visitors but have unique history and character. For example, in the village of Sykia, built at the foot of Mount Giona (20 minutes from Casa de Madera), stands the largest vertical rock face in Europe! • Taste local delicacies in the traditional taverns of the area. • Even go swimming during the warmer months of the year: either at the Baths of Heracles and in Stromi (10 minutes away), where the brave can try the cold river waters, or if you prefer the sea, Agios Konstantinos and Kamena Vourla are less than an hour away
