Hello, everybody. We hope you will have a wonderful stay at our home. Our studio at the first level of the air-conditioned villa, ideally located for Nature lovers in search of a quiet location ( in the center of Saint Claude and 6 minutes from Basse Terre by car ), close to the famous "Soufrière" Volcano (sight of the soufrière from the house), its tracks for hikers, its rivers and basins for those who prefer relaxation and laziness. You will feel at home in this cocoon which includes the necessary amenities (Internet, satellite TV, kitchenette, washing machine...) and a BBQ.
Having travelled a great deal in the past, it seemed natural to become a host and to return the welcome I received during my travels. It is above all a pleasure for me, a way to exchange, to share my beautiful Creole culture with travellers from here and elsewhere. I share this passion with my husband and my children because it is our pleasure to welcome people from all over the world. Welcome !
Our beautiful city of Saint Claude is a spa and student commune (IUT, University of the Antilles Guyana) which is known for its mild climate, its healthy air, its rivers and its famous hot water basin (Bains jaune) located in the heart of the Soufrière and which has the particularity of being excellent for skin problems thanks to its naturally sulphur water. Ideal for hikers and people in search of peace, nature and authenticity. The city also hosts each year the international hiking race "Volcano Trail'. and is one of the stages of the cycilist tour of Guadeloupe. She also witnessed a historic battle in Matouba (on the heights of St Claude) between former slaves and renegade soldiers who preferred to die in battle against Napoleon the 1st army, rather than return to slavery. Not far from Basse Terre and its fabulous market where flavors, fruits and vegetables, spices and various punches are all mixed up. (less than 10 minutes by car) For night clubbers, the discotheque Le Swing Club will delight fans of zouk and Caribbean music. To see: The lighthouse of Vieux Fort; "Le fort Delgres" and the Marina "Rivière Sens".
