"Wordsworth's Guest House" is named after the previous owner whose maiden name was "Wordsworth".
Anna and her family are descendants of the famous poet William Wordsworth who lived in Grasmere and Rydal and who was inspired by the beautiful landscape to write his wonderful poetry.
Our Guest House is a beautiful slate property built circa 1820 with a lovely home from home feel.
My name is Janet Berry. My family - husband Stuart, daughter Laura & I took ownership of Wordsworth's at the end of August 2017 after selling our cafe 'Stiles' in the centre of Ambleside. Myself and Laura run the guest house with a bit of help from Stuart at the weekends. We all have a great love of Ambleside and the Lake District and feel very privileged to be able to live here.
Our aim is to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.
Wordsworths is centrally located between the town centre and the lake. Both are within walking distance.
There are numerous cafes and restaurants merely yards away from the front door.
