Situated in the rolling hills of the southern Peak District overlooking Carsington Water and close to the High Peak Trail for miles of road free cycling and walking. The surrounding area is ideal for walking, cycling, climbing, wildlife or general site-seeing. Ashbourne, Dovedale, Bakewell and Chatsworth House are all within the local area as well as Carsington Water Reservoir which is visible from the cottages. For the more adventurous, Alton Towers is a half hour drive away. The surrounding farmland is only used for grazing and hay-making now but some of the old buildings remain in tact. Recently, wildlife photography hides have been positioned within the fields offering visitors with an eye for photography, the chance to take images of the wildlife that visits the farm.
