“Lovely, comfortable space, beautifully decorated and in such a great location near the city centre - the private roof terrace with a hot tub was the icing on the cake. Absolutely superb.”
Vintner Townhouse is a traditional 1800s Bath townhouse offering very high quality accommodation in the fashionable Walcot Street Artisan Quarter that runs into town and to the Bath Abbey. We have a good sized terrace and a hot tub for relaxing tired legs from walking around Bath. We are under 15 minutes walk from Bath Spa railway station and under 10 minutes from the Bath Rugby stadium.
The townhouse was recently redeveloped and modernised and is over 4 floors, and with 3 spacious bedrooms and with the master bedroom having an en-suite bathroom. The kitchen opens onto our rear terrace with Bath river views, and at all levels you can enjoy views of the Bath rooftops and skyline. We have flat-screen TVs, a very well-equipped kitchen with a dishwasher, an oven, a microwave and nespresso coffee machine. There's also a large dining table, seating area and a feature fireplace.
There is free overnight parking on Walcot Street outside the townhouse from 8pm to 8am, however, for daytime parking there is an excellent 24hr covered carpark under 5 minutes walk beside the main Waitrose Supermarket at the Podium. You can walk to most of the key sites in under 10 minutes and popular sites include the Circus, Royal Crescent, Bath Abbey and the Roman Baths. Bristol Airport is 19 miles away.
We have rented the property through a different host-site the past year, and our guests rated the property as a 9.8 for stays with multiple people.
We have lived in Bath for many years, and although we have recently moved away, we wanted to keep a close link to this amazing city (and its rugby team!), so we bought the townhouse in the amazing Artisan Quarter. We frequently like an escape to Bath and hence the house is set up to be homely family escape with nice amenities and crockery and a fully equipped kitchen.
In April 2025 we decided to change rental channels for Vintner House, and hence are re-building our property reviews on these sites, but we have listed a few examples - but we received a 9.8 rating from guests during 2024.
Cheryl is a doctor and GP. We have lived around the world and in HK, Singapore and Australia - and you will see this mix in our lamps and paintings in the townhouse. We are both sailors and love an adventure. We hope you love our townhouse and enjoy everything that Bath can offer.
Walcot Street's Artisan Quarter is a very special part of central Bath, comprising great restaurants, pubs, artisan bakeries, and many local shops. It is only a short 5 minute walk from thee main high street, but feels like a different area - with a far more local feel, and no major brand stores or restuarants. At the head of the street in the centre of town is a large Waitrose that covers anything you may need and an easy 5 minute walk from the townhouse.
Everything in Bath is a short walk and you will enjoy strolling into town to see the different sites, or simply to get to dinner without needing taxis or buses.
You will wake in the morning to the City slowing coming to life, and people heading into the centre along Walcot Street, or stopping for their morning coffee in one of the great coffee lounges. The Walcot offers a brilliant breakfast - 100 yards from the front door, and the bakery some of the nicest pastries in all of Bath.
The Walcot is 2 minutes walk and is an amazing restaurant and cafe, offering casual dining at the front and fine dining at the back. Its a local treasure and not often found by visitors to Bath.
The Artisan bakery bakes amazing bread every day and you will be drawn to it as you walk down the street. There is often a small queue - but be patient - its very special.
On Sundays you often hear the church bells echoing around Bath, and it adds to the feeling of being in this very special and historic city.
We love to walk over the hills surrounding Bath and have left some maps in the guest book. They give a totally different view of Bath and naturally we have inserted our favourite pubs.
