We feel that we were born to host. We get a real joy from helping people to have a great stay and solving holiday problems. We took a twist on the standard guest house giving our Dartmoor Explorers more independence by adding kitchenettes to all of our rooms, so that you can make your own breakfast/packed lunches and get out and enjoy the surroundings OR just enjoy the selection of cafes in the morning. We have set about creating something that suits the discerning explorer, high quality, super comfortable beds with extremely high quality bed linen, bike sheds, an outdoor kitchen, outdoor showers, a drying room (perfect for wet clothes, coats and boots) and our ultimate investment... a large outdoor swim spa, allowing all of our room guests access to a hot tub.
We have been hosting on the side of our careers (teacher and carpenter) for 10 years and our accountant told us that we should make it a reality, so we have!

We offer a unique experience in the heart of Dartmoor. A clean and comfortable, luxurious bed with high quality 100% cotton, percale, white linen. Catering facilities, so you can prepare your own food (with fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster and washing up facilities) and a space to sit and eat. Fantastic location right in the heart of Dartmoor but with two great local pubs, cafes, outdoor shop and a convenience store. We also have a fabulous large swim spa (hot tub), that is available for all guests over the age of 16 years to be able to use between 4 and 9pm. Addditional facilities include: drying room, bike sheds, outdoor kitchen with pizza ovens and sheltered seating.
The building originated as an Inn in the 1800s, so you get quirky corners, wonky floors and characteristic aspects. We are very proud of our super comfortable beds and aim to give you a characterful stay in a clean and comfortable environment.
