Taigh Violet Rose is a fantastic, historic former blackhouse that the current owner has renovated brilliantly. It’s now a lovely holiday home with all home comforts. Located on the Isle of Benbecula, which is between North and South Uist in the Outer Hebrides. The cottage itself has been fully renovated, even including a new thatch to ensure the authentic Blackhouse appearance. Open plan living is the set-up at one end of the cottage, and there is a double bedroom and bathroom at the other end. There is a garden that wraps around the property. Taigh Violet Rose is an excellent, historic property set in a truly outstanding destination. The island is accessible by ferry from mainland Scotland to either North or South Uist and then a causeway joins the islands. Alternatively, you can fly to tiny Benbecula Airport from Glasgow which is only a couple of miles from Taigh Violet Rose. Benbecula has many white sand beaches along its west, Atlantic coast. It’s an unbelievable place to go for a wander at any time of the year.
