Sylvan Spaces is the perfect retreat for the family, if you are looking to get away from it all. Nestled on a peaceful wooded welsh hillside, with a babling brook running through, there is everything you need for a bucolic getaway. Wake up with the birds, snuggle back down and enjoy your coffee, with the alpacas for company. You will be immersed in nature. Explore the 12 acres of organic meadowland, ancient trees and stream, a wild swimming pond and neighbouring woodland. We try to live in harmony with our beautiful surroundings. This means trying to minimise our impact as much as possible. Yarrow has been built using many reclaimed materials, tin from our delapidated barns, and the interior is made from reclaimed pallets! Water is from a spring and electric comes mostly from our solar panels. Water goes back into the earth and we even use your number 1s and 2s to go back into the land as black gold (compost) for our medicinal forest garden! There is a shepherd's hut ('Yarrow'), and a larger cabin ('Luna'), both accommodating a family of 4. Luna cabin is compact and bijou, with a light and airy living space, small dining table which seats 4, a small but functional kitchen, 1 bedroom with a double bed, a single futon, and a fold out bed which can be put up in the living area (bed linen is not provided for the futon or fold out bed, so please bring your own sheet, pillow and duvet for these). There is a shower and a compost loo. There is a spacious decking area with a table for dining, and bbq area and firepit with logs to sit on for evenings around the fire. You will also need to bring towels. Biodegradable shampoo and body wash are provided. 'Yarrow' is a rustic shepherd's hut. There is a double bed and two bunk beds, all with super comfy memory foam mattresses. You will find two large storage boxes on wheels, underneath the bed, where you can store your things. These double up as seats. There is a compost loo inside the hut, and a separate shower hut

Sarah and Jordan are passionate about living in harmony with the land where they live. Sylvan by name and Sylvan by nature, we have an affinity with the woodland and land, and are slowly trying to rewild as much of the land as possible. We have created a pond which is fed by a spring, which is fantastic for swimming, and for wildlife. In the summer it is teaming with dragonflies. We try to minimise our impact on our surroundings, by using renewable energy as much as possible, preserving our wonderful springwater, installing compost toilets, and being completely chemical free. We also have a love for wildlife and animals, and have rescued many of animals such as our donkeys, goats and chickens.

There are miles of footpaths on your doorstep, and the vibrant community of Llanfyllin is less than two miles away offering a selection of pubs, cafés and parks. We are 15 minutes from the stunning Pistyll Rhaeadr, Lake Vyrnwy, and the town of Welshpool, and 1 hour from Eyri (Snowdonia) National Park.
