Set within the heart of the beautiful Lake District in the idyllic village of Ambleside, Melrose Guesthouse offers spacious rooms and is just 15 minutes’ walk from Lake Windermere. The 4-star rooms at Melrose feature scenic fell views, en-suite bathrooms, free Wi-Fi, and flat-screen TVs with DVD players. Guests can also make use of free toiletries, tea/coffee facilities with biscuits and daily newspapers on request. The Guesthouse also provides a secure storage for mountain bikes. Fresh coffee, fruit, and a selection of cereals can be enjoyed at breakfast, along with a full Cumbrian breakfast, freshly cooked with locally sourced ingredients, or lighter cooked options. Surrounded by numerous fells and stunning Lakeland, there are countless opportunities for rural walks, and the famous Lake Windermere offers steamer cruises.

We love Cumbria, especially Ambleside. We never fail to be amazed at the stunning scenery that the different seasons bring. We pride ourselves on keeping our Victorian guest house in tip top condition. You will be assured a friendly welcome and we will do our utmost to ensure you have a perfect stay.

We are in the heart of the National Park. Fell walking and mountain biking can be accessed directly from the guesthouse. We are surrounded by some fantastic restaurants, so no need to drive out of Ambleside each evening for good cuisine. We are about 15 minutes walk from the northern tip of Lake Windermere, so lots of opportunities to explore the Lake.
