Yvonne and Matthew have been running their home, Melfort House, as a bed and breakfast for 10 years welcoming guests from all around the world and introducing them to the joys of west coast Argyll.

Melfort House is in an open rural location set in 70 acres of pasture and woodland looking south over Loch Melfort to the islands of Scarba and Jura. All guests have access to the main drawing room with its comfy sofas and log Fire. Breakfast will include a variety of cereals, fruit salad tea/coffee and toast. A cooked breakfast of bacon, sausage,mushrooms, tomato is available and can feature Stornaway black pudding and McSweens haggis. During the summer as much as possible of our produce is grown in the garden and evening meals can be arranged in advance.

Melfort House is located 15 Miles south of the town of Oban and 23 miles north of Lochgilphead in the county of Argyll. There are regular train and bus services from Glasgow to Oban and Edinburgh and Glasgow airports are 3 and 2.5 hours drive respectively. Oban is a busy ferry port and regular boats go to Mull, Coll, Tiree, Colonsay, Islay and Barra. There are many facilities in the town ranging from a cinema to a sea life centre, war museum to ruined castles and beaches.
