You won’t need the car once you arrive, as everything is just a short stroll away: the harbour, shops, cafés, beaches, and restaurants are all on your doorstep. The train station is only a 5-minute walk, and the bus stop is around 10 minutes away, making it easy to explore the wider area without the hassle of parking. Falmouth is a proper working harbour town with a brilliant maritime vibe — lively waterfront, great seafood, beaches you can actually walk to from town, and history tucked into every headland. It’s charming without being twee. Top sights (don’t miss): Pendennis Castle — dramatic Tudor fortress with panoramic views over the Fal estuary and lots of history to poke around.
