A haven of peace and tranquillity, Horama House was built 2007 to a very high specification and designed to take advantage of its unique location adjacent to a nature reserve and on the Duddon Estuary, with unrivalled panoramic views of the Lakeland Mountains. There is wheelchair access from the ample tarmac car park and all guest facilities are on the ground floor. The guests' sitting room/breakfast room is in the Atrium where microwave, toaster, fridge, freezer, cutlery and crockery are available for guests who wish to prepare own meals. The Atrium opens onto the estuary garden (wild flowers in spring and summer) - here there is table and seating on the patio.
Exiting from our estuary garden gate, turn left and walk alongside the water's edge of the wildlife rich Duddon Estuary which has been awarded a number of national and international conservation designations. The town is 20 minutes walk through the 20 ha Local Nature Reserve. Millom is a quaint former industrial town with a Heritage Museum and Visitor Centre - a Grade 1 listed Norman building, The Holy Trinity Church and remains of Millom Castle are nearby.
We, Carol and David live in the upper part of the house and are pleased to welcome guests and, where able, to assist with local knowledge and facilities.
It's a matter of personal pride to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.
