Casa Oliphaunt

We love being by the sea and Casa Oliphaunt allows us just that, as we are only a couple of minutes walk from the beach. Sunsets here are amazing and, as we are away from any main roads, the night sky is wonderful to see, as there is no real light pollution. We really hope you enjoy staying here as much as we do.

Well appointed 2-bed static caravan sited on a beachfront holiday park. Safe for children, away from main roads. Whitstable is 3 miles west along the coast, Herne Bay town 3 miles east, Canterbury 8 miles to the south and local brewery town Faversham 8 miles west. A little further east (about 12 miles) are the seaside resorts of Margate, Ramsgate and Broadstairs. Local bus routes have stops jut down the road from the site entry access road. Chestfield railway station is a mile away and serves the Ramsgate to London main railway route. Free wifi available, along with large TV that has Netflix, Amazon Prime and a DVD player, along with a small selection of DVDs. There is a Bluetooth-enabled micro stereo with radio and CD player. As of 2023, there are also TVs in both bedrooms. NOTES 1. Bed linen and towels are NOT included in the rental price but are available at ten pounds per guest. While the details state sixty pounds per stay, that would only apply if six people were staying. The site is managed by Park Holidays who will refuse entry to any single sex group. This also applies to predominately male or female groups of young people. It is billed as a family-friendly park and does not allow stag or hen groups. 3. Minimum age of lead guest is 21 years.

Whitstable is an ancient fishing town, mentioned in the Doomsday Book. Famed worldwide for its oysters, the Oyster Festival is a very popular annual attraction. Lots of independent shops and an eclectic collection of pubs. The town still has a working harbour with a number of restaurants and market stalls. Herne Bay was built as a Victorian seaside resort. Waltrop Gardens on the seafront, along with Neptune's Arm and the small manmade harbour are popular in the holiday months with families and owners of small marine vessels. Further along the coast, Reculver is the site of St Mary's church, of which only the twin towers still exist. This is believed to be the site of the beginnings of Christianity in England. It is also where the famous WW2 Bouncing Bombs were initially tested. A statue of the inventor Barnes Wallis stands at the eastern end of Herne Bay. A few miles south is the cathedral city of Canterbury, Seat of the Church of England. Seaview Holiday Park is ideally placed for excursions around this area of East Kent, with the Thanet seaside towns of Margate, Ramsgate and Broadstairs 12 miles further along the coast. All are reached easily by car or train. London Victoria is just over an hour by train from either Chestfield (the nearest station) or Whitstable (next stop on the line).
