Our Vision For 8 wonderful years we ran Bryn Melyn as a Guest House, (highly rated on Booking.com!). Now we have evolved and have converted the 8 guest rooms into 3 generously-proportioned self-catering apartments, each with its distinct character. As we have spent more time exploring many beautiful parts of the world we have started to appreciate the flexibility of self-catering so we have sought to combine that ease of use with the Bryn Melyn ethos - providing comfortable, elegant, home-from-home accommodation in the stunning setting of the beautiful Mawddach Estuary. Our apartments have been designed to do just that; a comfortable living space to retire to in the evening and on lazy days at home; a well-equipped kitchen for when you can't be bothered to go out for dinner; comfortable ensuite bedrooms with luxury bathrooms, king-size beds and memory-foam mattresses; a strong wi-fi signal in every room; and let's not forget a view to make your heart sing every time you draw back the curtains. Apartments are available for 3 or 4 day lets with changeover days on Fridays and Mondays. Combine 2 or more lets for a longer break.

In my late 50's. Moved to Barmouth in north Wales 9 years ago. Passionate about Snowdonia and love helping others to explore and make the most of the amazing landscape here.

'Where the mountains meet the sea'... That's how Barmouth is often described and it's not hard to see why. Nestling at the foot of the Rhinog mountain range in southern Snowdonia and in the shadow of Cadair Idris Barmouth also stands at the mouth of one of the most scenic estuaries in Europe - the Mawddach. Traditionally a family seaside resort its vast, empty beach simply beckons you to take your shoes and socks off and go paddling whilst the town itself has seen considerable investment in recent years and is now one of the most vibrant resorts on the Welsh coast. A healthy (independent) retail scene with 60 shops, a multitude of cafes and coffee-shops and a a variety of good-quality restaurants and characterful pubs have put Barmouth well and truly back on the holiday map. Barmouth is now an all-year-round centre offering excellent access to the whole of Snowdonia and much of mid-Wales. It is especially good for walkers and hikers with easy access to some serious mountains and a number of excellent trails starting from the town itself.
