Brandreth Barn is situated on a working farm dating back to 1774. The location offers a relaxing atmosphere in rural surroundings. The Barn also has a very popular tea room where you will have a choice of continental or full English breakfast catering for all diet needs. The tea room also offers a full popular menu during the days Wednesday to Sunday inclusive from 9am-4pm - it is advisable to book a table in advance. Each room has an individual character reflecting the ambience of the building with its own en-suite, tea and coffee, biscuits, TV, free Wi-Fi, hair dryer and central heating. Unfortunately we do not have the facilities for dogs. We always welcome any feedback during your stay or via review so that we can improve your stay with us.
Margaret has been welcoming guests to Brandreth Barn for 35 years with many regulars returning. A farmer's wife, Margaret enjoys baking, walking with her dog, Blackie, and taking care of her two sons and their wives and children. The farm grows carrots, potatoes and cereal and has two resident donkeys, Paddy and Max and friendly free range hens.
Brandreth Barn is situated within walking distance of the popular Martin Mere Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust with many public footpaths leading from the farm. A few minutes drive or a longer walk to the village of Rufford there is the National Trust Property, Rufford Old Hall situated along a beautiful canal with lovely walks. Rufford also has two marinas with popular cafes offering delicious home made food.
Although Brandreth Barn does not offer evening meals there are many excellent pubs that offer good wholesome food in the village of Rufford, Mere Brow and Burscough.
