Birchwood Guest Lodge has been established and opened in June 2018 and is a complete new building.
To reach modern and environmental friendly standards, the house has been built to one
level below passive house regulations and its heating runs on an air source heat pump
with a heat recovery ventilation system ventilates the whole house around the clock without
losing much of the generated heat. As a result you get no moisture from guests wet clothes
or showers building up dampens in the rooms. The style is perhaps not every one's taste
but we think the little rustic look gives the room some atmosphere. The homemade foldable beds
shall give guests staying longer than one night, the opportunity to use the space more than as a bed room.
Open wardrobe space has been chosen to dry your gear more efficiently. Scotland's weather is known
to be a wee bit wetter.
Our communal self-catering kitchen is open and a very much liked addition by many of our guests.
周边信息
From our guest house it's only 700 yards to the center, restaurant, cafe, village shop and visitor center of the national park.
The piers where trips can be booked from via water bus to Luss or the islands of Loch Lomond, are just a 15 minutes walk from us. The conic hill with its stunning view over the Loch can be hiked within 2 hours inclusive return and starts best from our guest house. For climbing Ben Lomond, one should plan a full day and it's worth every step of your 4-6 hours hike. There's a canoe hire for rides on the loch at Rowardennan. Be aware, you will need a car or hike as there's no public bus available.
