Bents Holiday Cottage Bents Holiday Cottage is a luxury self-catering three-bedroom holiday cottage, that provides accommodation for six guests and two dogs. Tucked away down a long private lane you’ll find the traditional stone built cottage. The property is adjacent to the famous "Three Chimney House", originally used to film the 1970’s film, The Railway Children. It is surrounded by the charming landscape & picturesque views of The Bronte countryside Haworth, and the local wildlife, such as deer, pheasants, owls, geese etc.. The Worth Valley Railway Station is a five minute walk down the footpath next to the cottage, what a magical experience for all the family to enjoy. Bents Cottage has been lovingly finished to a luxuriously high standard, and retaining original features, such as stone windows, exposed beams and vaulted ceilings upstairs and Yorkshire flagged floors, you’ll find careful attention to detail, such as crisp white bed linen, beautiful fluffy towels, extra pillows, snuggly blankets for your comfort, while you stay in this one off country escape with tasty treats including fresh eggs if our hens have kindly laid some, for you to enjoy. Garden, Parking and Outdoor space The pretty cottage garden is a large lawned garden surrounded by picturesque views of The Bronte Countryside (Haworth). It has a lovely patio area, with a garden table and chairs and an egg chair for you to relax and take in the breathtaking views, while your children play. We allow two well behaved dogs and the garden is a secure and safe place to let your dog’s explore. The cottage has Two parking spaces only! On the drive for you to park your car/cars. Bents Cottage is surrounded by many beautiful countryside walks, there are three footpaths leading off the cottage, ideal to go off and explore the beauty of “gods own country” Yorkshire.
Things to do in the villages of Haworth and Oxenhope The Cottage is located in the middle of the beautiful villages of Oxenhope and the historical village of Haworth. Haworth main street is one of the prettiest in England. It is a 15 minute walk, 2 minute drive from the cottage. The Bronte Parsonage is located at the top of the main street behind the church, there is a large car park at the side of the building. The Parsonage was home to the Bronte sisters, their brother Branwell and father Patrick Bronte. The family moved to Haworth into the parsonage when Patrick Bronte became curate at St Michael and All Angels church in 1820. It is now a museum for all to visit, it has lots of artefacts belonging to the sisters including, the stories and drawings written as children, and the desk on which Charlotte wrote her novels. It’s very interesting and a must visit for guests to re live a part of history. Close by Penistone Hill country park, the moor which inspired The Bronte sisters writing. Also on the main street are wonderful restaurants, country pubs, tea rooms, independent gift shops. There is a beautiful park, perfect for children to play and ride their bikes. Oxenhope also has some beautiful walks, there is a delightful reservoir to walk around and feed the ducks, four country pubs, The Waggon & Horses, The Lamb, The Dog and Gun and The Bay Horse (drinks only) to enjoy a drink or a tasty pub classic meal. There is a pretty park to walk around or take the children to let off some steam. Theres also a chemist and the coop, to pick up essentials. The terminus of the Keighley & Worth Valley Steam Railway is a 2 minute walk down the footpath. The Railway was made famous in the 1970 film 'The Railway Children'. There also Marshtop Farm shop located on the right hand side when turning right out of the drive which sell local produce. A breakfast hamper can also be arrange to be left in the cottage on your arrival at cost.
