“Breakfast was good. The room was nice. I was with family so the layout was useful around the chimney as it made it feel separated out.”

“The property was warm, comfortable and clean. The building is full of character features and steeped in history. The location was very good for visiting local places of interest and in the heart of the town. The breakfast was good and the staff...”
Anglebury House is a grade II listed building built in 1550 with lots of original features. One being a large inglenook fireplace in our lounge. Our room one was the room Lawrence of Arabia used when he stayed here with his friend who owned Anglebury prior to it becoming a guest house. Lawrence spent many a happy hour drinking coffee in our restaurant. Thomas Hardy also used the restaurant starting the book The Hand of Ethel Burton in the restaurant which is set in The Red Lion some 200 meters away. We are an ideal place to stay being in the center of town and only a short drive from Monkey World and Bovington Tank Museum. We are also the home of Wareham 41 club who dine with us once a month.
Our Double rooms are not large and have small shower rooms. As the building is listed we unable to alter them.
Our Family rooms are a good size one with shower room two with bathrooms.
Lawrence room sleeps 4 the largest of our rooms, it has a bathroom with bath and walk in shower.
One of our single rooms is on the ground floor with a 4ft bed and shower room. The other on the first floor,
As the building is old there are low door frames and some slopping floors.
We look forward to welcoming you.
Anglebury Team.

Wareham is a Saxon walled town with walks along the Saxon mud walls where Judge Jefferies held executions on the West Walls. We are a short drive from some of the most impressive beaches. Good location for cycling and walking the Purbeck Hills which have stunning views. Monkey World and the Tank Museum are only 7 miles away, A short drive or bus ride takes you to Corfe Castle and then onto the seaside town of Swanage which hosts diving and sailing.
