Various beautiful beach bars (season). The Canal du Midi runs directly along the village. In Portiragnes there is a small supermarket, bakery, butcher, post office, newsagent, winemakers, and some bars and restaurants.
In the pool, bathing, swimming, sailing, surfing, boating on Canal du Midi, the rivers Herault and Orb, Etang de Thau or sea. Game fishing, cycling, canoeing. Excursions to the surrounding landscapes and villages by bike or car.

The house is located on the outskirts of Portiragnes. On foot, by bike or car just a few minutes to the village center. To the sea it is 4 km, by bike or car in a few minutes. Parking near the beach free of charge. Over 20 km long sandy beach, often with natural dunes, partly with buildings or lagoons behind. Nice beach bars (season April - end of September). In the surrounding fields and vineyards, the Canal du Midi, the adjacent villages. Towards the sea a flat lowland area, rural, beautiful for cycling, with boat rentals on the canal, rental of riding horses. The better known places in the area are Beziers, Sete, Narbonne, Agde, Pezenas. A 25-minute drive east is the Etang de Thau, a lagoon lake with good sailing and surfing opportunities. It is also accessible via the Canal du Midi. Behind it Sete with old town, harbour, alleys. Agde was founded by the Greeks, Narbonne by the Romans. South-west towards Narbonne the Massif de la Clape, a flat limestone plateau, ideal for hiking or mountain biking. North, the Cévennes with rivers, green valleys and old villages. View of the Pyrenees about 75 km away.
