Chasteuil, whose origins date back to the 16th century, is a small hamlet of 20 inhabitants perched on a mountainside at 900 metres above sea level with good southern exposure. From its picturesque location, it overlooks the entrance to the Gorges du Verdon, famous for its canyon, hiking trails, river, white water sports, lakes and natural beauty.

The Gorges du Verdon and the Point Sublime* are a 20 minutes drive from Chasteuil. *The Point Sublime offers a spectacular view of the entrance to the canyon, where the Verdon flows between the two cliffs.

The open-air market takes place on Wednesday and Saturday mornings in the beautiful Place Marcel Sauvaire - the heart of the action in Castellane.
