Iris and Erkki are the ninth generation now maintaining Janisvaara. Family Mustonen rents cottages at Koli. Erkki's mother was the first hostess who started farmtourism at Koli village 1975. Hostess Iris is interested of different kind of handicrafts, she for example makes rugs herself. The host Erkki has made all the cottages himself being a very good carpenter. The host also makes all the forestry at Janisvaara 50 hectares forest area Iris and Erkki have developed the farmtourism at Janisvaara a lot during this century. Development of digitalization and online marketing have chanced the weekdays of the farm. Iris has also taken customer service to another level by serving local, organic breakfast to customers in summer time. Seasonal services vary from Santaclaus coming to the door for the customer or giving personal quidance of how to approach Koli area and make the best of the stay.

Family Mustonen has been the owner of the farm Janisvaara since 1731. There has always been cultivation and herd breeding at the farm. Farm Tourism started Erkki's mother in 1975. Jänisvaara is first place in Hattusaari- village where people are living in farm this Koli area.

The national landscape of Finland is located at Koli National Park and it is one of the most beautiful places in Finland. There are a lot of hiking tracks and historical places too see and explore. Finland's fifth biggest Lake Pielinen offers boat trips to Lieksa, canooing, rowing boat experiences. Boat trip to Lieksa can take you to one of the biggest outdoor museum in Finland. At winter you can experience the same Lake by skiing, skating it even by car! The longest iceroad in Finland is between Koli and Lieksa and it is open for everyone. Skiing tracks over 24 kilometers around Koli area, with maintenance. Also one of the oldest downhill skiing centers is located in the natural park.
