Welcome to the heart of Lapland on your holiday. Logwood Chalet is your centrally located home for your visit to Luosto. Enjoy the peace and tranquility year-around.
Welcome to Logwood Chalet! I am so excited to have you experience this beautiful area that is very close to my heart, and which I call home. I grew up in the nearby area and love Luosto for it's *Candle Firs" as we call this type of trees directly translated from Finnish. They are tall narrow firs adapted to the environment of heavy snow loads during wintertime. And of course, the peace you experience here, and clean water and air, are something you do not so often find anymore. Outdoor activities like hiking, backpacking, skiing, snowshoeing and berry picking in the summer/fall are things I love to do in the area myself. And personally, nothing beats sitting in warm sauna and watching fire in the fire place after a day spent outdoors. Wishing you a wonderful stay at my home in Luosto !
There are reindeer and husky farms to visit within 10 kilometers from the village. Fascinating and unique attraction Amethyst Mine in the area. Also small downhill ski center in the village. Pyhä Ski Center is approximately 17 kilometers from Luosto. You can visit Pyhä Nature Centre Naava in the village of Pyhä. In Sodankylä village ( 42 kilometers from Luosto) you can visit old wooden church that was build in the 1600's, Gallery Alariesto art collection, Sodankylä local history museum among other things.
