周边信息
The neighbourhood of San Basilio is one of the oldest in the city of Cordoba and is well known for being the epicentre of the Cordoban courtyards, as they are open for much of the year, beyond the Cordoban Courtyards Festival in May. We are talking about a unique tradition in the world, declared a World Heritage Site in 2012 and based on the characteristics of the Cordoban way of life, in houses with courtyards and balconies with gardens, in which flowers stand out as a decorative element. Strolling through the courtyards during the day and enjoying them in the evening, amidst the scent of jasmine and orange blossom from the orange trees, to the lullaby of flamenco music and the conversation of friends, is a unique experience. The neighbourhood of San Basilio, also known as Alcázar Viejo, began to be built at the end of the 14th century and its planning and architecture was conceived as a group of elongated streets attached to the Royal Stables with Patio houses, a typical Cordovan construction. It is a quiet neighbourhood consisting of three main streets arranged in parallel: Postrera, Enmedio and San Basilio.
