Children must be 12 years or older. Newly renovated 16th century townhouse with high ceilings, close to many attractions. The charm has been carefully preserved. It is located at the top of Bellaguarda Hill opposite the old tower. It is close to the main shopping street (only 2 minutes away) and cultural institutions, many restaurants and bars, a 24-hour supermarket and bakery just around the corner, and only a 3-minute walk to the beach. COMMON AREAS: Large roof terrace with fantastic 360° views of Altea's old town with the cathedral, the sea and the mountains, with lounge area, dining table and sunbathing area including refreshing shower; fully equipped kitchen with Italian pizza oven, 900° Beefer grill, wok gas stove, charcoal grill; NEW: contact grill/waffle iron. Free of charge: very large selection of spices, oils, vinegars, etc. Many Chinese ingredients. Each GUEST ROOM has its own BATHROOM en suite. Groups of up to 8 people can be accommodated, with plenty of space everywhere. When you arrive, I can pick you up with your luggage from the car park, bus stop, train station or taxi with my APE (Tuk Tuk, see photo) and bring you back after check-out (please arrange in advance). Please be sure to contact me before arrival. You can also book me as a restaurant. BIKE TOURS: The mountainous surroundings offer fantastic roads for cycling or motorbike tours. Altea has become a hotspot for professional cycling enthusiasts. Many national teams train here. There are various local companies offering bikes (mountain bikes, city bikes or racing bikes) or pedelecs for hire (bikes must be booked in advance). Bicycles can be stored in the house to a limited extent. I am not a keen cyclist myself, but I can give you tips on routes in the mountains or along the coast. Cycling is very popular in Spain. The photos do not always show the latest stage of the work. Further improvements are being made on an ongoing basis. Some of the photos are old pictures taken before the renovation.

Altea's old town and famous cathedral are within walking distance. The guest house is located directly on Plaza Bellaguarda with its old watchtower, which is a pedestrian zone with no traffic. Every Tuesday there is a local market around the corner (1 min), the main shopping street is only 2 min away, and there is a 24-hour supermarket and bakery just around the corner with fresh bread every day, around the clock. Boulevard and beach only 3 minutes away. MOTORCYCLE TOURS: I have been riding motorcycles for many years (HONDA CB1100, see photo) and we can go on tours together through the surrounding mountains, along the coast or inland. I know the area very well and there are many excellent routes with lots of bends, hairpin turns and little traffic... and great restaurants. No closures or obstacles. The views of the mountains, valleys and sea are breathtaking and there are many high passes. I have just organised a paella meal with two groups of guests at the top of the Sierra Bernia pass. MOUNTAIN TOURS: As a Bavarian and experienced Himalayan trekker, I enjoy hiking in the surrounding mountains. There are fantastic viewpoints and places to stop for refreshments. The routes can be planned from easy walks to challenging mountain tours, from a few hours to several days, with or without my accompaniment... they will always be unforgettable. CYCLING TOURS: The Area is perfet for any kind of bycicle tours. You can rent bycicles in Altea COOKING CLASSES: You are welcome to learn how to cook with me, from the basics to high-end recipes from around the world: e.g. Chinese, Arabic, Persian, etc. I will do everything I can to make your stay or holiday as enjoyable and relaxing as possible.
