It all started as a small family business more than a decade ago. The rooms are in a beach bungalow made with local materials, located a few steps from the beach.. Your hosts, Mirian and Santiago have implemented environmentally friendly systems such as gray water reuse, composting, among others. There is a strong bond between LA CASA MOMPICHE, the community and the protection of its natural environment

The warmth in services stands out when being attended by its owners. The place has parking, WiFi, social area with barbecue grill, bathrooms and outdoor showers to rinse off after a day at the beach or surfing. For those guests who plan to surf, there are discounts on board rental. Additionally there is laundry service. On weekends a small restaurant opens to serve pizzas and delicious cazuelas. The same place provides breakfast service for guests who request it in advance or that are included in some lodging.

Mompiche is located within the Ecuadorian Chocó corridor, one of the most important areas in the world for its biodiversity. It has spectacular landscapes to offer such as mangroves, a black sand beach, and tropical rainforest. In addition, there is a recognized African Ecuadorian culture intermingled with the Manabi culture. And, as if that were not enough, there is a large number of Pre-Columbian remnants from the Jama-Coaque culture. Many of these attractions are also found in the surrounding areas of Portete, Bolívar and El León. Do you want to surf? Here, you´ll find a spectacular left wave that reaches a distance of up to 0,6 miles during the season from December to March. This spot is considered sacred for its beauty and because it is located right beside the local cementary. It is perfect for those who want to learn to surf. There are also other local surf spots such us La Bocana, Playa Negra, and Portete.
